Job Title: Structural Steel Inspector

Job Description

We are seeking a full-time Structural Steel Inspector in the Columbus, OH area. The Inspector will perform on-site observations of steel connections, bolting, and more on various structural steel construction projects. The Inspector is responsible for reporting and tracking any discrepancies through the completion of the project, and communicating with construction managers and construction crews to observe the quality of the steel erection. We are looking for an experienced Inspector who can hit the ground running.

Majority of the work will be performed in the field at various steel-frame vertical construction projects around central Ohio. The company offers competitive pay, benefits, paid training, and profit sharing to all full-time employees. They are a growing firm with a strong, family-oriented culture.

ResponsibilitiesPerform on-site observations of steel construction projects.Consistent communication with construction managers and construction crew to observe the quality of the steel erection.Responsible for reporting and tracking any discrepancies through the completion of the project.Authority to reject and resolve conflict within the scope of authority.Adhere to strict safety standards.Essential SkillsAWS Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) certification required.International Code Council (ICC) S1 and S2 certifications required.8+ years of structural steel inspection experience strongly preferred.Proficient in reading and interpreting project drawings and specifications.High school diploma.Additional Skills & QualificationsFall protection/confined space certifications a plus.Engineering or related degree a plus.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $35.00/hr.
