Job Description
Plans, lays out, positions, aligns, and fits together fabricated parts of structural metal products. Welds, tacks and assembles together metal components of products such as modules, structural steel, pipe racks and plate welding with electric arc-welding equipment by performing the following duties.
Responsibilities
Read isometric drawings and determine which specifications to use.
Set up and maintain welding machines and associated equipment for welding.
Inspect and operate all power tools associated with welding in a safe and productive manner.
Weld flat, vertical and overhead positions.
Communicate clearly and effectively in a team environment.
Perform work in a safe manner that meets company and client standards.
Identify hazardous or unsafe situations and communicate to others.
Have the ability to adapt to changing work and environmental conditions.
This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
Other duties that are pertinent to the department or unit’s success also may be assigned.
Qualifications
High school diploma or GED equivalent or ten (10) years Structural Welder/Fitter experience will be considered.
Minimum five (5) years experience as a Structural Welder/Fitter.
Must be able to pass structural welding test flat, vertical and overhead.
Knowledge of industrial construction and characteristics of all equipment and functions related to the position.
Must bring own basic hand tools to job site. List of required tools provided by NANA Construction at point of hire.
Driver’s license and acceptable driving record for the past three (3) years to be eligible under vehicle insurance policy preferred.

While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly exposed to high, precarious places; outside weather conditions and extreme cold. The employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts. The noise level in the work environment is usually very loud.

While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and talk or hear, and is frequently required to stand and walk. The employee is occasionally required to sit. Steel toed boots are required on the job.
The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
