**Job Title: FLUXCORE MIG Welder 1ST SHIFT UP TO 33/HR** **Job Description** Candidates will be performing fluxcore MIG welding on components for the fabrication of steel bridges up to 1/2" thick. The role requires working off blueprints to perform full layouts and fabrication associated with these layouts. Candidates may need to operate overhead and Jib cranes and use other equipment such as band saws, drill presses, stud welders, and grinders. This is not a typical bay position; candidates will move around the shop to fabricate and weld bridges, including crawling under materials and welding in awkward positions. The role has the potential to evolve into a lead welder position, making previous lead experience important. **Responsibilities** + Perform fluxcore MIG welding on steel bridge components up to 1/2" thick. + Work off blueprints to perform full layouts and associated fabrication. + Operate overhead and Jib cranes, band saws, drill presses, stud welders, and grinders as needed. + Move around the shop to fabricate and weld bridges, including welding in awkward positions. + Potentially take on a lead welder role in the future. **Essential Skills** + Strong structural welding experience. + Ability to work independently and determine tasks without direction. + Willingness to learn and adapt. + Ability to consistently lift 50lbs, kneel, stoop, and crawl. + Pass a 3G vertical up weld test on a 7/8 plate with full penetration weld that passes X-Ray inspection. **Additional Skills & Qualifications** + Experience with blueprints. + Experience with fluxcore welding on structural steel. + Potential to be a lead welder. **Why Work Here?** Yearly bonus potential. **Work Environment** Small-sized structural fabrication shop with no air conditioning.
