What will you be doing?
Team CACI has an exciting and challenging opportunity available for a Structured Cabling Technician supporting an Intelligence Community customer’s wide-area (WAN), local-area (LAN) and campus-area (CAN) cable plant across multiple security domains.

The technician is responsible for the installation, modification, repair and maintenance of voice, video and data consisting of copper and fiber-optic cabling for inside and outside cable plants. The Structured Cabling Technician is expected to work as part of a team and adhering to proper customer and DOD/ICD installation guidelines. Maintain compliance with Quality Assurance standards as well as ensuring service performance indicators are met or exceeded.

Responsibilities

Must have the ability to install, terminate & test low voltage cables & fiber optical cables. Strong understanding of low voltage infrastructure and related services. Installation from outlets to distribution point, pulling cable, fire stopping and pre-termination including organizing, forming, dressing, and labeling cables to industry and DOD standards Perform work in renovations and new construction environments and implement cut-over. Update documentation of all network cabling configuration upgrades, additions, or revisions after implementation. Use various types of copper and fiber cable and termination hardware as well as termination and testing procedures used on a day-to-day basis. Ability to work from heights such as man lifts, scissor lifts, Ladders, reach overhead, kneel for long periods of time. Mechanical aptitude with the ability to read blueprints, architectural, mechanical, and electrical documents. Use hand tools, including various punch tools, test equipment, and various power tools such as hammer drills and saws. Ability to work in various environments – Office, Retail and Construction Proven ability to implement labeling schemes as detailed in the Project Scope of Work.
