The level of the position (Analyst/Associate) will be determined based on the candidate's experience and qualifications.

What is the opportunity?

As a professional working as part of the XVA Trading Desk within RBC’s Treasury Services group, you will bring your strong attention to detail, strong quantitative skills, advanced interpersonal and communication skills to the table as you build and maintain long-term relationships with clients and internal partners alike. 

The XVA Desk is responsible for trading, structuring and pricing the second-order counterparty related risks (CVA, FVA, KVA and ColVA) of all derivative asset classes globally. XVA desk is also responsible for derivatives collateral optimization for both Variation Margin, CCP initial margin and regulatory margin.   As the complexity of pricing and managing derivatives continues to increase, XVA desk is looking to attract talented individuals to contribute to the development of the team and of RBC’s all-around expertise in derivatives.

What will you do?

Pricing and/or hedging of XVAs for all derivative asset classes in RBC’s businesses globally

Running of on desk processes related to pricing of derivatives and generation and management of XVA and MCAD risks

Work closely with our sales and trading partners to ensure full understanding of inherent secondary risks

Running of processes to aid in collateral optimization

To be an integral part of the strategic development of the desk through related project-based work

Increase the efficiency of the desk through improvements in tactical processes

Work in partnership with other team members, Quant and IT teams to develop strategic tools supporting the desk and the broader enterprise

Review and comply with Firm policies applicable to your business activities

What do you need to succeed?

Must-have:

Completed a university undergraduate degree with focus on engineering, mathematics, economics or equivalent

Superior communications skills, with ability to work well in a dynamic team environment

Operational experience within Capital Markets

Nice to have:

Knowledge of XVA/all aspects of derivative pricing including related aspects of regulations (Basel III, IV, etc.) in a front office context

Knowledge of collateral optimization in front office context

Programming skills in VBA, Python, or similar

Experience with Bloomberg or other trading floor systems
