RESPONSIBILITIES:\n\nProvide subsystem management and integration oversight and insight in support of EHP Structures System Team, influencing hardware development.\nDevelop and leverage understanding of integrated EHP architecture and operations as it pertains to Structures and Mechanisms interaction in specific hardware design and across interfaces.\nProvide system requirements development and interpretation, including deviations and alternate standards, as it pertains to the NASA Technical Authority Design and Construction Standards and Subsystem Specifications for structures and mechanical systems.\nProvide support to Program milestones by providing critical review and reporting of hardware development and requirement verification.\nSupport the development of hardware and integrated Safety hazards and reviews. - Provide review of design and verification documentation related to EHP Structural and Mechanisms systems and hardware.\nEvaluate designs and perform technical and safety assessments. Identify areas needing independent verification and validation.\nReview and participate in test and verification of EHP hardware, including system and component level stress analysis.\nProvide technical support to Program Office, Boards and Panel meetings as the structures and mechanisms subject expert. Draw on other engineering resources for additional expertise as needed. Integrate with other technical disciplines to solve technical issues and progress the mission forward. - Travel as needed to other NASA centers and commercial partner facilities, international and domestic, in support of duties.\nOther duties as assigned. \n\n

REQUIRED:\n

\n\nRequires a bachelor's degree in engineering.\nMust have 2+ years of recent and related experience. \nStructural or mechanical system design experience including familiarization with design and analysis tools and testing methods.\nExperience conducting stress analysis and\/or reviewing stress analysis models and reports.\nExperience with NASA structural, mechanical, and safety standards and their application.\nSelf-motivation and quick learner to adapt to the broad array of subjects and issues encountered.\n\n

DESIRED:\n\nBS degree in Mechanical or Aerospace engineering.\nA working knowledge and experience with NASA design and verification documentation and requirements.\nSystems Engineering experience\/background or a desire to learn systems engineering.\n\n

WORK LOCATION: \n\nThis position is located onsite. \nThis position offers a 9\/80 schedule, every other Friday off. \nThis position may require some travel.\n\n

STANDARD BASTION REQUIREMENTS:\n\nMust have experience with Microsoft Office Suite.\nAll of Bastion's employees must be team players. \nAble to communicate effectively, verbally and in written form, with internal and external customers.\nAble to follow company programs, processes, procedures, practices, requirements, goals, and objectives.\nMust have a strong work ethic and must be safety culture oriented.\nMust be organized with good time management skills.\nGenerally, an office environment, but can involve inside or outside work depending on the task.\nWork may involve sitting or standing for extended periods (90% of time). \nMay require lifting and carrying up to 25 lbs. (5% of time).\nRegular attendance in accordance with an established work schedule is critical.\nAbility to work outside normal schedule and adjust schedule to meet peak periods and surge requirements.\n\n
