Position Information Position Information Position Availability: Position Title: Student Admission Assistant, Eugene Lang College for Liberal Arts Admission Requisition Number: 0406073505 Location New York City Position Type: Student Department: Provost/Provost's Office Responsibilities: The Lang Admission Student Assistant will play a crucial role in the Admission Department, working collaboratively to respond to and catalog general inquiries, maintain digital records, and serve as a primary point of contact for inquiries directed to the Lang email inbox. This position is vital as it ensures that prospective students and their parents have direct access to a current student, making their experience more personal and informative. The Assistant will be the face of Lang, embodying our values and community spirit. They will be the go-to resource for all prospective students hoping to speak with someone currently enrolled, providing invaluable insights and fostering a welcoming environment. The Assistant reports directly to the Assistant Director of Admission.
We are looking for a dynamic, motivated individual who can work independently, but is also a team player. Ideally the candidate is representative of the engaged and broad-minded spirit of Lang and will bring their own experience and perspective as a student to working with a small team, with a focus on fielding inquiries from prospective undergraduate students. Experience in admissions, office administration and customer service is a plus.
Priority consideration will be given to students of Eugene Lang College of Liberal Arts; students from all academic disciplines are encouraged to apply, but a familiarity with Lang’s programs is a must. Strong writing skills are also essential.

RESPONSIBILITIES Monitoring Lang inbox inquiries and fielding replies Meet with prospective Lang students and families to share their student experience Attend various admission events to offer a current student perspective Draft email response templates for commonly asked questions Provide general administrative support to the Lang Admission Team Additional project-based tasks and duties as needed Strategize and create content for Lang’s social media channels to promote engagement
WORK MODE Hybrid/Remote – Employees hired for this position primarily work remotely with the occasional on-campus presence required with advanced notice. Employees in this role will also be expected to use their best judgment to be on campus when necessary in order to best fulfill the responsibilities of their job descriptions.
HOURLY RATE$17 per hour Minimum Qualifications: Customer service experience Excellent verbal and written communication skills Strong understanding of the Lang student experience and programs Experience working independently and expediently with limited hands-on supervision Proficiency of Microsoft Office Suite and Google Drive Ability to demonstrate discretion in handling confidential applicant information Ability to perform multiple tasks with effective time management and prioritization Preferred Qualifications: Job Family: Admissions Posting Date: 09/06/2024 Closing Date: 12/31/2024 Open Until Filled No Supplemental Questions
