Position Information Position Information Position Availability: Position Title: Student Assistant, Performing Arts Admission Requisition Number: 0406073506 Location New York City Position Type: Student Department: Provost/Provost's Office Responsibilities: COPA Student Assistants will work collaboratively in the Performing Arts Admission Department responding to and cataloging general inquiries, maintaining digital records, assisting with various audition and interview events, and performing various administrative tasks. The Student Assistant will serve as a primary point of contact for inquiries directed to the general Performing Arts email inbox from internal and external stakeholders. The Assistant reports directly to the Assistant Director of Admission. We are looking for a dynamic, motivated individual who can work independently, but is also a team player. The ideal candidate for this position is a student who is interested in leveraging their own prospective student experience and working on a small team with a focus on fielding inquiries from prospective COPA undergraduate and graduate students. Experience in admissions, office administration and customer service is a plus. Applicants must be enrolled in a program at The New School; students from all academic disciplines are encouraged to apply, but a familiarity with COPA’s programs is a must. Strong writing skills are also essential. Applicants will be asked to complete a brief writing assignment during the application process.
This position is only open to students residing in the United States for the duration of employment. Applicants who do not reside in the United States will not be considered. Priority will be given to applicants who hold a Federal Work Study award.

Responsibilities:● Monitoring Performing Arts inbox inquiries and fielding replies● Draft email response templates for commonly asked questions● Provide administrative support to Performing Arts Admission Directors● Assist with audition, interview and recruitment event preparations● Additional project-based tasks as needed
Work Mode: Hybrid Remote – Employees in this position will primarily work remotely, and may be expected to assist with in-person audition events as needed.
Rate: $15-17 Hourly Rate Minimum Qualifications: ● Customer service experience● Excellent verbal and written communication skills● Strong understanding of the Performing Arts student experience and programs● Experience working independently and expediently with limited hands-on supervision● Proficiency of Microsoft Office Suite and Google Drive● Ability to demonstrate discretion in handling confidential applicant information● Ability to perform multiple tasks with effective time management and prioritization● Availability to work 15-20 hours weekly Preferred Qualifications: Job Family: Admissions Posting Date: 09/06/2024 Closing Date: 12/31/2024 Open Until Filled No Supplemental Questions
