Position Availability: Position Title: Student Assistant Specialist, Communications, Office of the Provost Requisition Number: 0406073501 Location New York City Position Type: Student Department: Provost/Provost's Office Responsibilities: The Office of the Provost seeks a responsible, detail-oriented individual to collaborate with and support communications. Students will be part of a cohort designed to leverage the skills and energy of student workers to support the daily work and advance key initiatives and goals of the Provost and Executive Vice President for Academic Affairs. General responsibilities include managing the PO social media account and creating compelling content, digital file maintenance, as well as research and special projects as needed. The applicant must possess strong organizational skills and be punctual, logical, and self-sufficient. A high level of technical computer literacy and proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite and Canva is preferred but not required. 
This position provides a flexible work schedule with a high expectation of reliability. Must be available to work at least 10 hours/week either on campus or remotely depending on the project.
RESPONSIBILITIES Work directly with Senior Director of Communications  Create social media content to highlight the work of the PO Maintain content calendar for PO Instagram account  Conduct internet research related to storytelling and effective communication  Participate in mentoring and professional development opportunities  Additional project based tasks as needed


Details:10-20 hrs per week $20/hour

HOURLY RATE $20 per hour Minimum Qualifications: MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Demonstrated proficiency in Photoshop, Illustrator and Indesign Knowledge of other software in the Adobe Creative Suite is not necessary, but desired A well developed aesthetic sense Ability to adapt designs in various formats for print and web Demonstrated interest and skill at social media management  Strong communication and organizational skills Ability to work collaboratively and independently Demonstrated professionalism and discretion Preferred Qualifications: PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONSPreference will be given to students who have Federal Work Study awards.
