What We Want The Sport Clubs Coordinator is part of the Sport Clubs team that is responsible for the general oversight of the clubs (approximately 39) under the Rec Sports umbrella, including budgeting, staffing events & activities, risk management, and emergency procedures. Responsibilities + Program Administration: Assist in the administration for the activities of the Texas A&M Sport Club Program (approximately 39 clubs), to include planning, scheduling, administering events, and serving as primary advisor for assigned clubs. Develops and implements trainings that all club officers attend to help learn their responsibilities as leaders in their clubs. Conducts research for program planning. + Student Development Specialist: Encourages the development of sport club leaders through regularly scheduled meetings with officers from assigned clubs, and monthly meetings with assigned clubs. + Event Manager: Assists with the planning and coordination for assigned sport club hosted events. Coordinates the facility reservations for sport clubs’ activities, including practices, games, meetings, tournaments, and other events. Interacts with the medic staff to ensure proper coverage at appropriate events. + Supervision: Supervises sport club supervisor staff including, but not limited to hiring, training, scheduling, and evaluating. + Marketing Liaison: Communicates and coordinates marketing, advertising, and promotional efforts collaboratively with the marketing and communications area. + Club Funding Administrator: Assists in the preparation of the budget for sport club’s staff. Assists in the sport club budget allocation process, where funding is awarded to clubs on an annual basis. Works closely with the Executive Committee on holding allocation development workshops, as well as training executive committees on actual set up and procedures for the allocation process. Assists in fund allocation planning. + Development and Scholarships Liaison: Serves as a liaison between the sport clubs’ area and the Rec Sports Director of Development and Sponsorships. Responsible for providing information regarding current and graduating sport club members for future development efforts. Assists with donations to the clubs within the sport clubs’ program, to include developing the donation forms and processing equipment. Assists with the processing and distribution of sport club scholarships. + Inventory: Develop and manage an inventory plan of sports equipment for the clubs and for the overall sport clubs’ program. + Risk Manager: Develops and monitors the risk management plans for the sport clubs’ program to include monitoring safety aspects of sport club travel. + Department Mission Duties: Serve on national, university, divisional, and departmental committees as needed. Assist in establishing long and short-term goals of the department. Attend local, state, and national workshops and conferences, host and present at various workshops. Maintain positive relationships within department, other university departments, community, and vendors. Assist other university staff members as requested. Interact with students, faculty, and staff for the benefit of carrying out the mission of the department. Qualifications Required Education and Experience: + Bachelor's degree + One year experience in recreation or student affairs work Preferred Qualifications: + Master’s degree + Two or more years' experience in a collegiate recreation setting + Experience with recreation management software + Experience supervising college students Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: + Ability to multi-task and work cooperatively with others + Ability to keep accurate and up to date records + Working knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet, and/or data entry applications. + Customer service oriented + Good oral and written communication skills Physical Requirements: + Ability to work outdoors exposed to various weather conditions, potential allergens, elevated noise levels, and heat + Ability to move up to 50 lbs with assistance + Ability to move light, medium or heavy objects with assistance + Some lifting/carrying of classroom/presentation materials; ability to lift, carry, load or unload up to 10lbs. of instructional materials Why Texas A&M University?
