Requisition 202400378ST Title Student Employee-Dept of Accounting-Assistant to the VITA Site Coordinator Employee Class Student Employee College Work Study Position Yes Department Dept of Accounting Division Division of Academic Affairs Hours per week Monday's 4pm -8pm (days and times flexible); hours may increase during spring semester when center is open Hiring Rate $12.00 Preferred Student Classification Freshman or Sophomore Nature & Purpose of Position The Bearkat VITA Center is part of the Internal Revenue Service’s VITA program. Utilizing IRS-certified volunteers, we provide free income tax preparation and filing services to students, employees, and area residents who generally make $58,000 or less, persons with disabilities, and limited English-speaking taxpayers.

This will be an administrative position that assists the Site Coordinator with site operations, staffing, and community outreach. The Center is located in the Smith-Hutson Building (College of Business Administration).

General duties include, but are not limited to:

1. Reviewing and securing confidential taxpayer data.2. Assisting with scheduling appointments for VITA clients via phone and email.3. Verifying all volunteers have completed the requisite training and signed the proper IRS forms.4. Administrative support: Copying, sending emails, answering and returning phone calls, creating name tags, and internet research.
5.Adhere to all VITA Center and IRS policies Other Requirements for the Position 1. Ability to multitask.2. Ability to maintain confidential information.3. Ability to communicate and interact with volunteers and clients.4. Basic Microsoft Word and Excel skills.5. Well organized.6. Excellent organizational skills.7.
