Requisition 202400391ST Title Student Employee-Nursing-Study Session Leader Employee Class Student Employee College Work Study Position No Department Nursing Division Division of Academic Affairs Hours per week 5-10 Hiring Rate 10.00 Preferred Student Classification Junior 2nd semester and Senior first semester Nature & Purpose of Position Nursing Study Session Leaders will work to provide a welcoming environment that is conducive to students needs and supports student success. As a study session leader you are providing an example to the students by your actions in and outside the classroom. Students will prepare for and lead weekly 2-2.5 hour study sessions for Soph2, J1, or J2 students using Socratic questioning along with engaged-learning strategies to help participants learn and understand the science and art of nursing. Peer leaders will also integrate wellness activities throughout the semester and are expected to role model and encourage participants to engage in regular wellness-related activities. Other Requirements for the Position Minimum nursing GPA 3.0 (preferred) Good communication and teamwork skills Effective time management and organizational skills

In this position, selected mentors will participate in a day-long training to be held at the beginning of the semester @ TWC. During the first 2 weeks of the semester (while groups are still being formed), we’ll ask for 2 mentors each for So2, J1, & J2 cohorts to lead a general mentoring session for any student interested. Small-group sessions should then start week #3. You’ll work approx. 5-6 hours/week including session preparation and required post-session activities. There is also a monthly mentor meeting and an end-of-semester meeting for overall debrief.
