A. Basic Purpose
As a TSA Student Support Specialist of Napa Corps, you will play a vital role in assisting students in achieving their academic and personal goals by providing guidance, mentoring, and support within an educational development program.
B. Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Correspond with Adult Education. Oversee and assist the Adult Education Educator Recruit and promote the Culinary Training Academy. Conduct interviews with prospective students. Monitor performance and maintain student records (education, records of disciplinary actions, services rendered, and life restoration/recovery documentation). Coordinate program activities and events. Maintain records for audit purposes. Attend/oversee student events such as graduations and fundraisers. Manage and coordinate daily chores and conduct regular inspections for TLP. Coordination of move-in and move-out for students and graduates. Ordering/preparation of new CTA & TLP student supplies Responsible for disciplinary actions including termination from the CTA program and TLP. Coordination with mental health clinician. Coordinate transportation for medical appointments, groceries, field trips, etc. Correspond with probation departments. Support resident recovery plans – case management. Other related duties as assigned.C. Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Other Qualifications Requirements
High School Diploma or G.E.D. equivalent. 21 years of age or older Must possess a valid California Class C Driver License and ability to drive a Salvation Army vehicle. Flexibility and ability to work well under stress in adverse conditions. Ability to promote, develop and maintain productive working relationships with a broad range of individuals. Ability to respect and uphold confidentiality of staff/students. Self-motivated; able to work independently with minimum supervision yet function as part of a team. Must have the ability to interact with co-workers and the public in a positive and professional manner. The ability to work with people of diverse backgrounds and circumstances. Ability to provide leadership, instruction, and supervision to program participants. Must have excellent active listening skills. Must have excellent English communication skills, both verbal and written.D. Physical Responsibilities
