The Division of Information Technology (IT), the central IT organization for Colorado State University-Ft. Collins, supports the land-grant heritage of the institution as well as the university’s missions of teaching and learning, research, and service. The Division of IT is responsible for delivering enterprise and campus focused IT services for the Ft. Collins campus as well as throughout the CSU -System. Areas of responsibility include Research IT, Application Development and User Support Services, Academic Technology, Cybersecurity & Privacy, Networking and Telecommunications, Infrastructure and Databases, Business Intelligence and Data Integrations, Administrative Applications, and Student Applications. Reporting to the Vice President of Information Technology/ CIO , our dedicated 120-person team delivers dynamic and innovative solutions to meet the diverse needs of our students, faculty, and staff. The Student Information Systems team plays a crucial role in maintaining and enhancing the systems that support student data management and academic processes. The Student Information Systems ( SIS ) team is the backbone of CSU’s student journey, powering essential processes from application to graduation. SIS supports key functions for the Registrar’s Office, Admissions, Financial Aid, Accounts Receivable, the Graduate School, and more. Position Summary The Student Information Systems Supervisor leads the SIS Team in a manner that aligns with the University’s mission and supports equity and inclusion. This role works closely with members of the SIS Team, Division of IT, and campus partners to develop and support services provided by the SIS Team, including maintaining, upgrading, and enhancing the SIS ERP (Banner) and its components, such as Application Navigator, Administrative Pages, Self Service Apps, Banner Access Management, Banner Communication Management, and Banner Extensibility. The role also involves maintaining integrations between Banner and third-party applications across both CSU and CSUP campuses. The supervisor provides input to leadership on technical decisions and future plans that represent CSU’s interests. The ideal candidate will be a team player, analytical thinker, and possess strong interpersonal and communication skills. They must be able to lead a team in resolving problems quickly and completely, focusing on customer success through strong relationships and collaborative problem-solving. Occasional travel, participation in professional and technical development, and off-hours work are required. Required Job Qualifications + Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, or a related field, plus 5 or more years of relevant professional IT experience. Candidates with a High School Diploma, GED , or unrelated post-secondary education and 8 years of relevant professional experience will also be considered. + Excellent verbal and written communication skills. + Knowledge and experience with all phases of the software development lifecycle ( SDLC ). + Experience with revision control/source code management tools such as Git, RCS , or similar. + Experience with change management in an enterprise environment and production turnover processes. + The successful candidate must be legally eligible to work in the United States by the time of hiring. Preferred Job Qualifications + Previous experience with supervision and performance management, with strong communication skills and the ability to organize and present information clearly. + Project management experience. + Advanced education in Computer Information Systems, Computer Science, Business Administration, or other related areas. + Experience working in a higher education environment. + Knowledge and experience with Ellucian Banner ERP . + Experience with web applications infrastructure, such as Apache Tomcat, Oracle WebLogic, and JVM environments. Coordinate and lead production deployments. + Participate in analysis and decisions related to the Joint Banner shared environment, including coordinating software upgrades, version control, clone schedules, user access, MEP issues, and testing.
