Position Summary Information
General Summary
TheStudent Intern – Process Control Engineeringintern will assist in thedocumentation, design and templates for the industrial control system.
Essential Functions
· Reviews processes and documents as P&IDs.
· Prepare drawings (including templates) within AutoCAD.
· Optimize various plant processes: Filter Chlorine and Chemical Feedback Control.
· Assists with urgent water and wastewater projects.
· Assists engineers with data preparation and analysis for projects, inspections, and condition assessments.
· Reviews plans of projects for functional design and conformance to Commission standards. · Uses Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) to enter, extract, analyze, or report on data.
Other Functions
Assists with urgent process control water and wastewater projects.
Work Environment And Physical Demands
+ Work will primarily be performed in an office environment, but will also involve visiting construction sites.
+ Should have the ability to climb ladders, stairs, and work outdoors.
Required Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities
+ Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications
+ Good communication skills.
+ Capable of working independently
Minimum Education, Experience Requirements
Completion of at least 1 year of college coursework towards a degree in Environmental or Chemical Engineering.
Additional Requirements
+ Must have dependable transportation to travel between WSSC Water facilities.
+ Proficient in the use of MS Office applications.
Preferences
+ Interest in water treatment engineering
+ Experience with AutoCAD
