Family Health Centers at NYU Langone, a designated Level 3 Medical Home, is the largest federally qualified health center network in New York State, and the second largest in the nation. Position Summary:
We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Student Intern.

In this role, the successful candidate Project SAFE Youth Health Advocates will help to reduce community rates of HIV infection through their participation in the Project SAFE Health Education internship.

Job Responsibilities:

Co-facilitate evidence based workshopsMeet with co-facilitator after each workshop session to check in about how the workshop wentAssist in making sure that all needed materials are ready for workshopsFoster a welcoming environment for the program. This includes maintaining a positive attitude about activities.Plan and implement social media health education campaign in collaboration with team.Enter workshop data into Efforts to Outcome system.   Collect sign in sheets Assist with fidelity checklists. Print out sign-in sheet and make sure all group member sign-in for events  Assist in planning and executing open mics and other events Attend all events and tripsTable at outreach eventsHelp promote eventsParticipate in community coalitionsParticipate in weekly staff meetings

 

Minimum Qualifications:
To qualify you must have a High School diploma required
Able to work independently
Effective telephone and in-person communication skills
Previous experience volunteering or interning required
Ability to work and interact with culturally diverse populations
As required by funder of internship, must be between ages of 18 and 24
Good interpersonal skills and positive work ethic

Preferred Qualifications:
Strong interpersonal skills

Qualified candidates must be able to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization.

NYU Langone Health provides a salary range to comply with the New York state Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for the role is $18.00 - $18.00 Hourly. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, specialty, education, and hospital need. The salary range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.
