Working with Fleet Services subject matter experts (SMEs) and other internal stakeholders to analyze, recommend edits, author, and deliver high-quality documentation such as internal operating procedures, manuals, job aids, and forms. Essential Functions + Analyze business processes to determine documentation requirements. + Gather information through research, SME interviews, source documents, and review of existing documentation. + Write various types of documentation, such as internal operating procedures, manuals, job aids and forms. + Write Internal Operating Procedures (IOPs) with examples and step by step instructions + Interface with internal clients to gain insights on how information is consumed by the audience, and then determine efficient ways to present and deliver the information. + Manage reviews with SMEs to maintain accuracy and completeness of documents. + Produce documentation for electronic or hard copy publication. + Organize, publish, and maintain documents in SharePoint (or similar document management systems) in such a way that information is easily accessible. + Perform review on the effectiveness of existing documents. + Update, edit, and improve existing documents based on current WSSC Water policy and procedure writing standards, quality, and style guidelines. Other Functions N/A Work Environment And Physical Demands Business casual office environment with some visits to vehicle/equipment repair garages Required Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities + Strong interviewing and listening skills. + Excellent organizational, written, and verbal communication skills. + Time management/ability to perform comfortably in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented work environment. + Ability to write clearly, concisely, and accurately for a wide variety of audiences. + Ability to pay attention to detail, proof-read and edit. + Demonstrate initiative, problem-solving, and decision-making within scope of responsibilities. + Ability to ask relevant questions when interviewing SMEs and other resource persons. + Comprehend abstract and complex concepts and translate them to concrete, simple, user-friendly documents. + Collaborate effectively in a team environment, as well as work independently without much supervision. + Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information. + Possess strong knowledge of MS Office Suite, including Word, SharePoint, PowerPoint and Excel Minimum Education, Experience Requirements Completion of 1+ years of college coursework pursuing a degree in English, writing, communications, curriculum development, or related discipline(s).
