Responsibilities include assisting the Plant Engineer, Plant Superintendent, and Chief Plant Operator in the management of theoperations and maintenance of the treatment facility. Essential Functions + Collaborate with team members, learning and assisting with operations and maintenance of the plant and remote facilities + Learns and frequently performs sampling duties in compliance with certification/regulatory requirements including simple chemical analyses of sampling to determine operational parameters, as well as maintains a log of sampling results + Gather data and analyze results for program and/or performance improvements. + Provides general housekeeping for all facilities + Learns and uses the Plant Process Control System for the purpose of helping to develop and test new graphics, trends, and alarms + Maintain and update relevant manuals, presentations, templates, policies, procedures, processes, etc. + Assist with the Western Branch’s day-to-day activities such as logistics, communication and execution of tasks + Performs independent research on improved control of water treatment, wastewater treatment or composting processes Other Functions Performs other related duties as assigned Work Environment And Physical Demands Work primarily performed at a wastewater treatment plant. Required Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities + Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal skills + Advanced research skills + Good professional engineering judgment + Experience handling concurrent tasks and projects + Team oriented and self-motivated with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. + Ability to work independently and with cross-functional teams + Proficient in MS Windows software; Word, PowerPoint and Excel Minimum Education, Experience Requirements Currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program in Civil, Chemical, or Mechanical Engineering related engineering discipline Additional Requirements + Proficient using MS Office applications + Additional experience is helpful Preferences + Strong verbal and written communication skills. + Solid organization skills. + Possess good quantitative, analytical and technical aptitude.
