**POSITION DETAILS**

Reporting to the Vice President for Student Affairs, or designee, the Director of Student Activities and Leadership will provide student-centered, innovative, and strategic leadership for a comprehensive program focused on student leadership, service, and engagement. This role will support all students by developing initiatives that foster a vibrant campus life and promote personal growth and leadership development.
The duties of the position include but are not limited to the following:
• Serve as the primary liaison between student government, the student body, and the Vice President of Student Affairs Office.
• Provide direct supervision to Office of Student Activities personnel.
• Create and deliver civic engagement, student service, and leadership programs and workshops.
• Develop and publish a handbook detailing procedures for student clubs, organizations, club advisors and other groups as needed.
• Oversee the advisement of student clubs and organizations in planning and executing programs.
• Maintain the Co-Curricular Transcript (CCT) to document student out-of-classroom experiences.
• Collaborate with the BMCC Association Manager to interpret and enforce policies related to clubs and student activities.
• Coordinate with college departments and committees to enhance student engagement activities.
• Act as the Vice President’s representative in managing all student election activities.
• Serve as on-site administrator for all student-sponsored programs, including after-hours events as needed.
• Grant initial administrative approval for all student club expenditures and event requests.
• Oversee coordination with the College Events Office for student-sponsored events and space requests.
• Assess the success and impact of student-sponsored events and activities.
**QUALIFICATIONS**
**MINIMUM**
Bachelor's degree and eight years related experience required.
**PREFERRED**
• Master’s degree in student personnel administration, higher education or a related field and four (4) years of administrative and supervisory experience preferred.
• Familiarity with current higher education practices, theories, research and policies.
• Knowledge of best practices in Student Affairs, including research, assessment, and data-informed decision making.
• Proven experience developing student activities, leadership, and service programs for a diverse student population.
• Demonstrated success in college-wide collaborations.
• Strong interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills, and the ability to build effective working relationships.
• Ability to provide courteous and accurate service to students, visitors and the campus community.
• Highly organized and detail oriented.
• Ability to work evenings and weekends as needed.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, social media, learning platforms, and other related technologies preferred.
**CUNY TITLE OVERVIEW**
Directs planning, program development, and administration to support access, retention, multicultural, and other student affairs objectives.
- Develops plans for, and leads a student development services unit which comprises a variety of services and programs
- Collaborates with academic affairs professionals and other in supporting retention and building a comprehensive learning environment that fosters the intellectual, psychological, social, leadership and recreational development of a diverse student population
- Assists senior management in providing leadership, developing policy, conducting strategic planning, and representing student affairs in various professional activities
- Evaluates the effectiveness of the portfolio of student services in supporting divisional and College-wide goals; oversees data collection, tracking, and reporting systems
- Manages fiscal and human resources; may oversee grant management activities for selected programs
- Performs related duties as assigned.

**COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS**
Salary range is $96,602 - $104,057, Salary commensurate with education and experience.
