The responsibilities of the student are:
· Research processes and supports for conducting classroom discussions on polarizing topics.
· Develop in-class activities to support the development of a classroom community.
· Co-facilitate a 3 hour classroom discussion in EDES 366 on how to explore polarizing topics in class.
Qualifications Required (skills and abilities, education, language skills):
· Excellent oral and written communication skills
· Strong information literacy skills (i.e., ability to define research terms, search online databases, journals, websites, synthesize information, and critically evaluate resources)
Education/experience requirements
· Teaching experience in the domain of equity, diversity, inclusion, and teaching and learning
· Expertise in approaches to facilitating classroom discussion on polarizing topics
