The primary purpose of this position is to provide a student trainee who has been appointed to the Pathways Program with on-the-job training and guidance to further student technical development. Responsibilities Performs selected tasks and phases of routine studies and projects that require application of basic occupational field theory and principles in the technical area of logistics. Participates with senior personnel in conducting non-routine projects. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas: Knowledge of basic occupational theory, principles, concepts, and practices in the technical area of the classified title or related field. Skill in applying basic occupational theory, principles, concepts, and practices sufficient to perform student trainee assignments. Ability to follow instructions and guidance to complete assigned tasks and communicate information to others in oral or written format. Ability to analyze problems, identify significant factors, gather and interpret pertinent data, and apply established rules and procedures in order to recommend effective solutions. Ability to learn and apply basic investigative techniques to accomplish work in the subject-matter field. Ability to gather and analyze basic facts, information, and data, and draw conclusions. Knowledge of safety, fire, and health guidelines and regulations. PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week. VOLUNTEER WORK EXPERIENCE: Refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service Programs (i.e., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student and social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge and skills that can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Education This position has an education requirement. You MUST provide transcripts to support your educational claims. You must show proof the education credentials have been deemed to be at least equivalent to that gained in conventional U.S. education program. Additional Information This is a Pathways Student Internship opportunity managed by the Force Renewal Program and centrally funded by the Air Force's Central Salary Account (CSA). The Internship offers valuable work experience directly related to your academic field of study. This is your opportunity to begin a successful Federal civilian career with the United States Air Force. As an Intern, you will be given the opportunity to gain the knowledge, skills and abilities needed to pursue a successful career with the US Air Force and upon completing your degree and meeting conversion eligibility requirements, be eligible for placement in a permanent position. However, it is important to remember that eligibility for conversion does not guarantee you will be offered a permanent position. The length of Internship is normally two years or when you complete your academic program and degree requirements. This internship is to provide a learning opportunity for a student enrolled in a field of study relating to their career path, to enhance their future goals and improve their knowledge with work experience in a working environment. The entire period served under the Internship Program counts as the participant's trial period.
