The Student Wellness and Accommodations Coordinator Associate reports to and works closely with the Director, Student Mental Health Services to manage student wellness and accommodation issues for Graduate School of Education. This position blends collaboration with colleagues/partner offices and non-clinical support to provide direct follow-up for students who are in distress related to medical and psychological concerns, life traumas, and other barriers that impede students’ success. The Coordinator uses interventions, referrals, and follow-up services to provide a personalized, high touch, and customized response to address individual student. In providing support to students this position will need to collaborate with many partner offices. While strong supportive relationships may develop with students, the Coordinator does not engage in individual therapeutic relationships or psychological counseling.

Responsibilities Case Management:Respond to queries from students, staff and faculty, related to concerns about students in distress, medical leaves, and/or the navigation of Touro University’s resources.Provide ongoing case-management for students in various stages of distress and need, including meeting individually with students to support their progress and provide referrals to services within the university.Follow-up and track cases to ensure student compliance with recommendations and adequate support.Manage student cases that come through faculty referrals including collecting, evaluating and updating information.Conduct meetings with students.Provide short-term counseling, crisis intervention & wellness resources to students living off-campus.Create a supportive wellness program for students returning from medical leave of absence, in partnership with the Program Chairs and faculty, to facilitate a smooth transition.Provides on-going support to students returning from medical leave to create a plan for successful completion of the semester or review options such as leaves of absences. Outreach, Training, and Education:Work with student groups focused on health & wellness initiatives.Assist partner offices in developing and implementing programs that disseminate information and promote student wellness. (i.e. webinars, orientation).Assist in training and advising faculty, staff, and students on managing and responding to students of concern.Other Related Duties:Assist in college-wide events and programs. Provide support as requested during emergent situations.Other duties as assigned. Qualifications

Education/ Experience

Master’s degree in social work, counseling, higher education, or related field strongly preferred.Minimum experience of four years in academic environments with experience in case management, including managing responses to crisis situations on a residential campus and working as part of a case management team.Experience with diverse student populations and navigating complex, decentralized environments.Demonstrate awareness and an understanding of FERPA, Clery Act, CAS Standards, HECMA standards, and other emergent issues pertaining to case management in a higher education setting.

Knowledge/ Skills/ Abilities

Must be able to assess situations quickly and triage objectively, and serve as an authority to relevant resources and devise solutions efficiently.Must possess excellent emotional and interpersonal intelligence, the ability to navigate difficult and ambiguous situations, and manage sensitive and confidential information.Must be able to relay information clearly through excellent writing and oral communication skills.Demonstrate knowledge of and the ability to learn student services/educational software.Must be self-initiating and independent. Maximum Salary USD $60,000.00/Yr. Minimum Salary USD $48,000.00/Yr.
