Studio Art Social Media & Design Assistant (AY 24-25 902187)

Flex your visual skills by creating and managing content for the Studio Art Department! The Social Media and Design Assistant will work with staff and faculty to design and distribute announcements for department events both in print and social media. They will also document student work, exhibitions, and department events as well as organize and disseminate content provided by faculty and staff.

Position is paid at level B. 

  

Requirements 

Essential Functions: 

Design posters for department events. Creates content for current social media platforms. Photograph and collect documentation of department events, class presentations, and individual student work. Works closely with faculty and staff to work through design drafts. Develops outreach ideas and marketing plans tailored for student engagement. 

  

General: 

Works cooperatively with others and accepts direction from supervisors. Able to develop and implement self-directed project management. Maintains flexibility and willingness to work through the design process from conception to completion. Has a consistent and organized approach to managing media. 

  

Desired Qualities: 

Experience in design/marketing/visual art. Familiarity with the Studio Art department Proficiency with the Adobe Suite - particularly Illustrator and Photoshop. Basic understanding of design principles, typography and color. Ability to shoot, edit, and output high-quality photographs using a DSLR/Mirrorless camera. 

  

Other: 

Some evening and weekend work is required to cover events. Must be able to follow a production schedule.
