Quad is seeking a full-time Shop Lead for our photo studio working exclusively for Colony Brands in Monroe, WI. This role leads and manages plans and timelines for studio construction projects and organization. Collaborates with the photo team for final outcome.
Responsibilities:
+ Lead crew of 2–4 freelance set assistants
+ Assign work and set priorities
+ Direct work
+ Inform team of direction from creative planning meetings
+ Guide set assembly process using provided templates and other resources
+ Attend seasonal creative planning meetings and photography pre-pro’s
+ Source new materials (wallpaper, flooring, etc.)
+ Create estimates for new projects
+ Deliver set materials to the studio bays, strike sets
+ Assemble sets following provided direction
+ Design and build modular set components (walls, windows, basic cabinets)
+ Maintain set components (patching holes, repainting, re-skinning walls)
+ Collaborate with Art Directors to design sets upon request
+ Maintain catalog of set components
+ Maintain client satisfaction and confidence
+ Provide input to and participate in Continuous Improvement initiatives (6 Sigma, Kaizen Newspaper, War Room meetings, Lean events)
Qualifications:
+ 3 years previous photo/video shoot or theater experience.
+ 3 years previous woodworking/shop experience.
+ Portfolio of demonstrable skills and abilities are required
+ Building/construction, painting, design, and fabrication skills
+ Practical operational experience with general hand and power tools used in carpentry and light construction
+ Industry set rigging skills; knowledge with architecture/art a plus
+ Understanding all the facets of the construction process working with photography, theater entertainment and art
+ Excellent attention to detail and meet deadlines on time
+ Excellent organizational, problem solving and team leading skills
+ Ability to multitask and delegate projects as necessary
+ Ability to contribute to and facilitate collaborative creative process
+ Ability to see the bigger picture while working under pressure
+ Ability to work in tightly-integrated team environment
+ Self-motivated
+ Ability to lift 50 pounds
