Studios Business Affairs negotiates deals and drafts agreements for above-the-line talent (producers, writers, directors, actors and casting directors) and underlying rights for scripted broadcast and streaming programming. The Department also oversees/handles all business affairs matters relating to development projects and series and provides support for other departments within the company (e.g. development, production, finance, legal, marketing, casting) and ancillary activities. 

This internship is based in the Los Angeles, CA area from June 9, 2025 to January 2, 2026.

A Day in the Life…

As an intern, you’ll be involved in a variety of exciting projects that will challenge and develop your skillsets. Projects/work to include reviewing agreements and closed terms, drafting deal charts, memos and short form agreements along with participating in various team, Studio and departmental meetings.

What we are looking for…

We’re seeking highly motivated individuals with a genuine interest in entertainment law, negotiation theory, and the television business. While prior experience in media/entertainment is a plus, it’s not a deal-breaker. Here are the basic qualifications we’re looking for:

A strong interest in entertainment law, the television business, and/or negotiation theory/strategy (relevant coursework is a bonus)Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook is a mustOutstanding interpersonal and communication skillsDemonstrated ability to multitask and meet deadlines under pressureA detailed-oriented approach, even when processing a large volume of documents

Required Qualifications & Skills

Shown ability to take initiative and balance multiple projectsCollaborative teammate who can also work independentlyDemonstrate a high degree of discretion in regard to sensitive and/or confidential information

Preferred Qualifications

Previous work experience in the entertainment industry, and basic knowledge of copyright law

Required Education

Completion of at least the 1st year of law school in a current JD program at the start of the internship

Preferred Education

Preference shown for students who are in at least the second year of their degree program

Eligibility Requirements & Program Information

Be enrolled in an accredited college/university pursuing a graduate degree taking at least one class at time of application OR currently participating in a Disney College Program or Disney Internship. Current Disney Interns, College, International, or Culinary Program Participants: You may only work for ONE consecutive year (12 months) in any combination of an internship and/or program.Be at least 18 years of agePossess unrestricted work authorization

Additional Information

Able to have a consistent, reliable work schedule throughout the internship.Fully available from Monday through Friday, 9am-6pm PST for 40 hours each week for the duration of the Summer, and part-time during Fall.Able to provide own housing for the duration of the internship program in the Los Angeles, CA area.Able to provide/have reliable transportation to/from work.

The pay rate for this role in California is $41.40 per hour.
