Sub Acute Administrator Director Exempt

Position Summary:

Dedicated and experienced Sub-Acute Care Administrator to oversee the operations of our sub-acute care facility that is a distinct part (d/p) of our acute care hospital. Administrator will be responsible for ensuring high-quality patient care, managing staff, and maintaining compliance with healthcare regulations. Will play a critical role in developing and implementing policies and procedures that enhance patient outcomes and operational efficiency.

Duties:

1. Operational Management:

•             Oversee the daily operations of the sub-acute care facility.

•             Ensure efficient and effective service delivery to patients.

•             Develop and implement operational policies and procedures.

•             Maintain an adequate liaison with families and residents.

•             Maintain a good public relations program that serves the best interest of the facility and communityalike.

 

2. Staff Management:

•             Recruit, train, and supervise staff members.

•             Conduct performance evaluations and provide ongoing coaching.

•             Foster a collaborative and supportive work environment.

 

3. Patient Care:

•             Ensure that patients receive high-quality care in accordance with their treatment plans.

•             Monitor patient progress and adjust care strategies as necessary.

•             Address patient and family concerns with empathy and professionalism.

 

4. Regulatory Compliance:

•             Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations and standards.

•             Prepare for and participate in inspections and audits.

•             Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry regulations and best practices.

•             Review and Develop a plan of correction for deficiencies noted during survey inspections and provide a written copy of such   in collaboration with the organization’s regulatory oversite to the governing board and ombudsman representative as required.

 

5. Financial Management:

•             Prepare and manage the facility budget.

•             Monitor revenue and expenses to ensure financial sustainability.

•             Implement cost-control measures while maintaining quality care.

 

6. Quality Improvement:

•             Develop and monitor quality improvement initiatives.

•             Analyze data to identify areas for improvement in patient care and operational efficiency.

•             Lead staff training on quality improvement practices.

•             Participate in Infection Prevention practices

 

7. Committee Functions

•             Serve on various committees of the facility and provide written/oral reports of such committee meetings as directed or as may become necessary

•             Assist Quality department  in developing and implementing appropriate plans of action to correct identified quality deficiencies

•             Evaluate and implement recommendations from the facility’s committees as necessary.

8. Safety

•             Ensure all facility personnel, visitors, etc., follow established safety regulations, to include fire protection/prevention, smoking regulations, infection prevention, etc.

•             Ensure the building and grounds are maintained in good repair.

•             Review accident/incident reports and establish an effective accident prevention program.

•             Ensure all personnel follow established regulations governing the use of labels and MDSs for hazardous materials.

•             Ensure that facility procedure manuals identify safety precautions and equipment to use when performing tasks that could cause bodily injury.

•             Ensure that facility personnel follow established ergonomics policies and procedures.

•             Ensure that all facility personnel performing tasks that involve potential exposure to blood, body fluids, or hazardous materials participate in in-service training program prior to performing such tasks.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Education 

•             Bachelor’s degree in healthcare administration, nursing, or a related field.

•             Proven experience in healthcare administration, particularly in sub-acute or long-term care settings.

•             Strong understanding of healthcare regulations and compliance.

•             Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.

•             Ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams and stakeholders.  

•             Proficient in healthcare management software and electronic health records (EHR).

Preferred Education 

Master’s Preferred

Minimum Work Experience and Qualifications 

•             Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.

•             Must be able to work in a union environment.

Preferred Work Experience and Qualifications (Indicate preferred years of job experience, skills or abilities required for the job.)

At least 2 years’ experience as an administrator in a Sub-Acute or SNF

Required Licensure, Certification, Registration or Designation (List any licensure or certification required and specify name of agency.)

•             Administrator license for Sub-Acute.

•             Current Los Angeles County Fire Card required (within 30 days of employment)

•             BLS

•             ARC (within 30 days of employment)
