Sub-Regional Head of Capital Management, Director

We’re seeking someone to join our team as a Sub-Regional Head of Capital Management, Director.

In the Corporate Enterprise Services division, we provide solutions that enable Morgan Stanley’s workforce, across our global workplace locations, to effectively and efficiently work in the service of our clients.

This is a Director position within Corporate Real Estate, which is responsible for overseeing the management, workplace design and leasing activities of the Firm's properties. May also include the purchasing of properties and all related responsibilities.

What you'll do in the role:

-Foster a team environment and assure the development, alignment and implementation of standards, processes and best practices across a matrix managed organization; regionally and globally

-Accountable for strategic leadership of the capital management function and service delivery in the Americas Region

-Formulate and execute on real estate strategies to improve overall service delivery and outcomes for clients and the Firm

-Manage and lead a team of internal external senior project managers responsible for the implementation strategic objectives that are aligned with the goals and objectives of the Firm

-Capable of managing the relationship across a range of internal Stakeholders and Business Unit leads.

-Drive a culture of talent development for all team members through proper goal setting, identification of training opportunities and a career growth focus

-Development of creative and innovative project management solutions to maximize service delivery and client needs

-Lead delivery models and manage/drive performance via a suite of robust KPIs and comparative metrics

-Responsible for project risk management and mitigation including assuring Morgan Stanley's CDM (or regional equivalent) and project-related statutory HS responsibilities are discharged through all stages of the project.

-Responsible for business case compilation/creation, prudent budgeting and project financial management controls including a commitment to reporting and cost optimization programs

-Develop, implement, and maintain sound business practices and policies to ensure quality service delivery for Morgan Stanley's portfolio and internal business clients

-Lead and support efforts associated with the development and evolution of project management tools and service delivery platforms

-Oversee the development of client briefs into full project specifications in conjunction with the Workplace design, Transaction Management, Property Management, and other Corporate Services areas as appropriate

-Demonstrates a commitment to integrity, excellence and development of a strong team work ethic

-Develop a culture of Measured Performance Management

-Ensures engagement reviews with required stakeholders, a commitment to evolving policy and process, and quality assurance procedures for all projects

-Act as the internal liaison to other Morgan Stanley service groups with a commitment to integration and collaboration between all Corporate Services and Property Management (Property Services, Employee Guest Services and Engineering Design) functions

-Provide project management expertise and a commitment to standards, benchmarking, process, best practices, policy, compliance, and risk mitigation

-Develop relationships across Morgan Stanley to become a trusted advisor to colleagues, internal clients', and business units

-Advise project managers on understanding the implications of different technical choices and guide them in directing the clients to the best solution for the enterprise

-Reinforces team approach regionally throughout practice both on client projects and internal initiatives by partnering across all corporate services functions for a holistic approach

-Active engagement with the Workplace and Design team to deliver and provide continuous improvement to the firms Workplace Evolution initiative

-In conjunction with the procurement team, ensure that consultants and trade contractors are appointed in accordance with the established selection and purchasing procedures

-Communicate effectively with clients to identify needs and evaluate alternative business solutions and strategies

-Continually defines ways to increase customer satisfaction and deepen client relationships

-Strong vendor management and commercialism skills, particularly in relationship to performance based contracting and strategic alliances/partnerships with service(s) providers

-Ability to investigate, analyze, synthesize and apply complex information, problems, concepts and theories to a project management body of knowledge or practice

-Previous experience in investment banking/financial services or critical system environments would be advantageous

-Excellent communication, interpersonal and client service skills

-Intermediate to advanced software skills including MS Office package (PowerPoint, Excel, Word) and working knowledge of a project management software tool such MS Project, or similar is required

-Communicate professionally and effectively in a range of modes to various audiences to achieve targeted outcomes

-An organized and self-disciplined individual with respect to time management and work processes.
