Job Overview The USCG IPT is seeking a Subject Matter Expert (SME) IV (Teams Room Engineer) with expertise in Video Teleconferencing (VTC) and Teams to support the US Coast Guard IT Services team and provide day-to-day IT and cyber program support to the Coast Guard. The SME will serve as a technical leader undertaking complex initiatives requiring specialized technical knowledge. This position is required onsite in Alexandria, VA. Occasional travel may be required. Responsibilities Essential Duties & Job Functions: Qualified candidates will be part of a highly collaborative team accountable for defining and driving our enterprise Video Teleconferencing systems integration, specifically Teams Room. The SME will own the definition of the desired target state and create the associated documentation on how to engineer the USCG’s desired solutions. You will be working with the latest technologies through vendor relationships and proof of concepts, solving large complex problems, and defining new technology enabled opportunities. Partner across technology disciplines to present and deliver the needed architectures. Develop and utilize reusable patterns, practices, and enterprise reference architectures that fit within the overall USCG architectural blueprint. Experience engineering VTC solutions with Microsoft Teams Research and implement new VTC, VOIP and Networking technologies. Acquire and manage the necessary resources, including leadership support, financial resources, and key security personnel, to support information technology (IT) security goals and objectives and reduce overall organizational risk. Job Requirements Mandatory: Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, IT, Engineering, or Mathematics or ten (10) years of experience with VTC equipment. Experience integrating Teams and its suite of platforms. Five (5) years of video teleconferencing experience. Experience engineering and integrating with Poly Studio Room Solutions and associated equipment. CompTIA Security+ Recent experience with DHS, DoD, or other government agency in IT with 10+ years’ experience.
