Leidos is seeking an experienced Subject Matter Expert (SME) Consultant for our Application Modernization Practice located at our Leidos Headquarters in Reston, VA.

POSITION SUMMARY:

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing hands on technical expertise with repeatable offerings (RO’s) within the Application Modernization Practice of the Digital Modernization (DigMod) Sector. As an Application Modernization Practice Subject Matter Expert (SME) Consultant, you’ll be a critical bridge between technical expertise and business development. Your role will focus on promoting Leidos application modernization solutions to federal clients, ensuring alignment with their needs and driving successful adoption of Leidos repeatable offerings. Duties may include developing innovative approaches and solutions, using non-quantitative tools and guidelines from experience. 

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Technical Expertise:

Have deep experience of cloud computing platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud), cloud native services, infrastructure as code, serverless services, container technologies, AI technologies, automation and orchestration solutions, IaaS, PaaS, SaaS solutions, as well as enterprise low code and no code solutions.Be able to take existing Leidos solutions, methodologies and frameworks and develop and price repeatable offerings for broad use cases across federal. Work with internal Leidos DigMod CTO, Business Groups and Growth organizations as well as with external partner organizations (as applicable) to develop repeatable offerings following the Leidos repeatable offering lifecycle.Stay informed about cloud trends, AI/ML solutions, competitive landscape and emerging technologies to effectively position Leidos capabilities and offerings.Direct strategic initiatives to enhance the Leidos offerings portfolio, leveraging your deep technical knowledge and industry insights.Be well versed with services-based architecture, solutions and data leveraging API integration services. Familiar or easily able to understand architectures and capabilities of enterprise low code no code solutions including those but not limited to Appian, ServiceNow, SalesForce, SAP, Palantir and AI solutions including but not limited to SourceGraph, Moveworks.

Client Engagement:

Be the Application Modernization Practice Area technical subject matter expert/engineer that works with Leidos DigMod Sector CTO, Business Groups and Growth to identify customer requirements and propose tailored solutions and offerings.Direct, conduct and participate in technical presentations, demonstrations and workshops for government customers.Work with DigMod CTO organization to leverage and create sandbox, demonstration environments for hosting Application Modernization Practice repeatable offerings.Develop and maintain high-level relationships with key stakeholders and decision-makers to drive strategic opportunities and long-term partnerships.Provide consulting and thought leadership to influence client decision-making and drive project success.

Solution Architecture:

Partner with Leidos capture teams, solutions architects, and engineers to design cloud solutions that meet customer requirements and tailor repeatable offerings accordingly.Develop and implement innovative solutions to address complex technical challenges impacting multiple sectors, using creative problem-solving and advanced technical expertiseArchitect and oversee the implementation of enterprise-scale solutions, ensuring alignment with organizational and client strategic goals.Champion best practices and direct efforts to continuously improve and evolve Leidos's Application Modernization Practice offerings based on market trends and client feedback.

Collaboration:

Collaborate with practice area team members, client stakeholders, and external partners, including sub-contractors and suppliers, to ensure effective communication and project alignment.Influence practice area and sector leaders on solution design and process improvements, advocating for strategic approaches and best practices.Lead cross-functional teams to drive alignment and ensure the successful delivery of complex, multi-dimensional projects.

CLEARANCE REQUIREMENT:
No initial clearance is required to start; however, you must be able to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret security clearance. (US Citizenship required).

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

Master’s degree with minimum of 15+ years in software development or software engineering roles, with a robust background in designing, implementing, and optimizing solutions in cloud and data center environments; additional years of experience may be substituted in lieu of a degree.Extensive experience in Cloud Technologies and infrastructure-as-code concepts.Demonstrated expertise in designing and deploying scalable applications in cloud environments using both established and cutting-edge programming languages. Familiarity with legacy programming languages.Proven track record of resolving complex technical challenges in cloud and data center architectures, application modernization, API, service-oriented architectures and systems.Strong leadership skills with a successful track record of leading teams in the implementation of cloud and data center solutions, fostering collaboration and innovation.Ability to effectively manage projects, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines in dynamic cloud and enterprise application environments.Proficient in writing and developing White Papers, Points of View articles, proposal responses and developing customer presentations.

Pay Range:Pay Range $148,850.00 - $269,075.00
