Submarine Navigation Electronics Technician
Amentum is seeking a Submarine Navigation Electronics Technician to join our R4 Electronics Repair team in Groton, CT. The successful candidate will work with a team of highly dedicated and experienced former service personnel in maintaining the U.S. Navy’s Submarine Force Warfighting Capability. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: + Research technical documentation and develop test plans for use in troubleshooting, fault localization, and failure analysis of EHPs and outboard electrical equipment. + Test, repair, remove and replace EHPs. + Test, repair, and replace outboard cable assemblies and associated loads, i.e. snorkel head valve position indication, fwd. and aft anchor lights, bow planes indications, topside running lights, Bridge Display Unit, Portable Ship Control Station (PSCS), and in-port security lighting. + Perform molding and inspection procedures for fabricating connector plugs for submarine outboard cables. + Perform testing, periodic maintenance, and repairs to the Secondary Propulsion Unit (SPU) Low Voltage Differential Transformer (LVDT) components and SPU indication switch and cable components. + Overtime may be required on occasion. + Continental and foreign travel may be required on a few occasions. Minimum Requirements + US Navy Technical training ("A" or "C" Schools) + Eight (8) years of electronics experience + Must be able to obtain and maintain a secret US government clearance. Note: US citizenship is required to obtain a secret clearance. + Must be able to obtain and maintain access capabilities to U.S. Naval Installations (specifically U.S. Naval Submarine Base New London). Preferred Qualifications + The best-qualified applicant would have 8+ years of submarine navigation electronics operation and/or troubleshooting experience. This experience would be a combination of sea/ shore duty. + Six (6) years of electronics experience onboard submarines and, five (5) years of electronic repair and maintenance experience.
