Full TimePart TimePRN schedulesThe Substance Use Disorder Technician provides direct client care to individuals with a substance use disorder in a treatment oriented residential setting. The Substance Use Disorder Technician is part of a multidisciplinary treatment team who works collaboratively with residents and team members to ensure services and interventions are provided in a strengths-based and person-centered manner to help individuals achieve wellness and recovery goals.
JOB DUTIES
Provides care to residents in a manner that promotes safety and comfort in a supportive, therapeutic environment.Ensure monitoring of vital signs, signs and symptoms of withdrawal, and possess knowledge to determine need for medical assistance if needed.Assists residents with completing activities of daily living and other essential tasks.Works collaboratively with treatment team to implement services within the program which support individual goals according to their wellness plan.Provides medication administration and/or observation to residents per agency medication policies and program expectations.Plans and conducts education groups to residents that support wellness and recovery goals.Models positive behavior and effective problem-solving techniques.Assists with meal planning and preparation.Conducts environmental and resident safety checks of community areas and rooms.Conducts urine drug screens as needed.*Transports residents as directed by supervisor. Meet driver requirements. *This applies only if hired for a driving technician position.QUALIFICATIONS
High School Diploma, or GED.
Experience in the social service field helpful, but not required.
*If driving: Must maintain a valid drivers license and clean driving record. Must pass a Department of Transportation (DOT) physical as required by regulations. * This applies for SUD Tech Drivers only.
