Substation Electrical EIT/Coordinator

In the role of Substation Electrical EIT, we'll count on you to:

Conduct analyses to develop design options or recommendations, engineering document review, drawing review and revision, provide field construction support and assist in the preparation of cost estimates and specifications among other tasks.Preparation of engineering drawings, calculations, analyses, reports and designs for electrical substations (Low, Medium and High Voltage).Preparation of calculations, design sketches and redline drawings.Working with Designers and CADD Technicians to develop drawings in accordance with national design standards, safety codes and project specifications and requirements.Developing design deliverables including one-line diagrams, protection and control schematics, wiring diagrams, SCADA schemes, communications plans, substation physical layouts, material lists, conduit and cable sizing/routing, AC and DC systems calculations and sizing, and substation grounding.Conduct site visits during the design, construction and as-built phases of projects.Perform routine electrical engineering assignments using client and industry standards, with instruction from the Project Engineer or Project Manager regarding the expected results.Complete projects with clear, specified objectives and limited variables.Work independently on small projects or assist more-senior engineers on larger projects.Perform other duties as needed.Preferred QualificationsPrevious experience with an architectural/engineering or engineering consulting firmDue to client contract requirements, US Citizenship is requiredTakes initiative and is flexible with embracing change in order to accomplish project goalsThrives in a team environment and has strong communication, organizational and problem-solving skillsOpenness to being mentored by Senior Engineers and Subject Matter Experts to support individual growthPrior internship/co-op experience in power, utilities, renewables and/or construction industries a plusStrong computer skills using AutoCAD and Microsoft OfficeDesire to pursue growth opportunities and obtain CA PE registrationExperience using electrical design software such as SKM PowerTools, ETAP or EasyPower is considered a plus.Willingness to have a strong in office presence 4-5 days a weekInterest in engaging in technical and industry groups (IEEE, NAPE, EPRI, etc.)

If candidate does not have EIT certification at the time of hire, title of position will be Substation Electrical Coordinator.

The expected compensation range for this position is $74,239 to $100,441 annually and depends upon skills, experience, education and geographical location.
