**The ideal candidate will have:**
+ High School Diploma or GED
+ Minimum of eighteen (18) months' experience in commercial/industrial wiring or High Voltage (HV) wiring or a minimum of six (6) months' experience as an OUC Apprentice Substation Electrician (required)
+ Valid Florida Driver's License
+ Class A CDL (preferred)
+ Critical Infrastructure Protection (CIP) clearance, or ability to acquire withing six (6) months of hire

**Salary Range:** Starting at $28.99 per hour (Estimated $60,313.76 annually) with a structured step progression system and performance-based pay increases every 6 months up to $33.58 per hour (Estimated $69,860.96 annually).

**Job Purpose:**
This is a substation electrician position in a craft ladder as the next job level from the Apprentice Electrician. Assist Substation Maintenance Electricians in the maintenance of all substation equipment.
Work under the direction of an Electrician I on a multi-person crew maintaining substation equipment or other assigned duties as necessary.
**Primary Functions:**
+ Work with crews maintaining & testing all substation equipment under leadership of Electrician I or Lead Electrician;
+ Assist crew in performing (HV) & Low Voltage (LV) switching activities under supervision of Electrician I or Lead Electrician;
+ Review job assignments and safety procedures each morning with Electrician I or Lead Electrician;
+ Assist in preparing vehicle for next assignment with tools and equipment for their crew, being personally responsible for assigned equipment;
+ Assist with training and requirements for newer Electrician IIIs;
+ Take initiative in completing required safety/job skills trainings and on-the-job field sign off book;
+ Perform other duties as assigned.
**Technical Requirements:**
+ Working knowledge of, but not limited to, the following:
+ AC & DC electrical principles;
+ Mechanical skills as related to electrical equipment;
+ Maintenance testing methods for electrical equipment;
+ Familiarity with the following:
+ Understanding of mechanics, hydraulics, pneumatics, and electrical maintenance methods within a substation (preferred);
+ Schematics, manufacturer prints, and wiring drawings;
+ Equipment to include: Trucks (e.g. Tractor trailers, tankers, bucket truck, F550 Crew, Line truck, Cranes), Electric Testing equipment;
+ Software and technologies to include: Cascade, Battery testing software (both preferred)
+ Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
+ Abilities to include:
+ Performing all aspects of substation electrician work without physical limitations;
+ Comprehend instruction manuals and participate in electrical training;
+ Analyze complex problems and discover the core of the problem;
+ Building relationships with co-workers and customers;
+ Taking direction and demonstrating an eagerness to learn;
+ Able to retain information;
+ Wear and use various safety equipment (breathing apparatus, etc.);
**Education/ Certification/ Years of Experience Requirements:**
+ High school diploma or GED;
+ Possess a current and valid Florida Driver’s License;
+ Minimum of eighteen (18) months’ experience in commercial/industrial wiring or HV wiring or a minimum of six (6) months experience as an OUC Apprentice Substation Electrician (required);
+ Class A CDL (preferred).
+ Critical Infrastructure Protection (CIP) clearance, or ability to acquire within six (6) months of hire.
+ For demonstration of experience as an OUC Apprentice Substation Electrician: Completion of OUC Apprentice Substation Electrician sign-off book; and Maintenance of safety certifications acquired at the OUC Apprentice Substation Electrician level or equivalent skills, training, or certifications (required).
**Working Conditions:**
This job involves exposure to extreme weather conditions and occasionally noxious fumes, insects, heights (upwards of 150 ft), confined spaces, and excessive noise. Participate in the supervisory call out for substation equipment and other emergencies. Such response shall be for scheduled and call out work in all types of weather conditions. May respond to after-normal-work-hour emergency calls to address operational problems where response time is critical to maintain system integrity.
**Physical Requirements:**
This job involves Very Frequent standing, walking, lifting up to 20 lbs, typing, speaking & hearing, and may involve very frequent detailed inspection, writing. This job may involve frequent sitting and lifting between 21 and 40 lbs. This job may involve occasional bending/stooping, pushing, pulling, and/or digging, reaching over head, kneeling, crawling, and climbing (ladders, stairs, hills etc.). This job involves very frequent driving of a company vehicle as assigned.
