Substation Engineer

Summary: Seeking Substation Engineers with expertise in substation engineering design, focusing on physical and protection & control practices for high voltage systems.

Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent Minimum 3 years of experience in substation engineering design Licensed professional engineer for senior positions or ability to obtain within one year Familiarity with electrical relays and metering in substations at 138kV and above Strong knowledge of AC/DC fundamentals, three-phase power systems, per-unit mathematics, and symmetrical components

Preferred Skills:

Experience in relay coordination Knowledge of NEC, NESC, NEMA, IEEE, and ANSI standards

Responsibilities:

Create design documents and drawings including wiring diagrams and bills of materials Perform engineering support tasks such as relay burden calculations and load flow studies Apply engineering software for ground grid design and transformer sizing Review project schedules to ensure timely completion Supervise project activities and coordinate with project engineers and clients Conduct site visits for hands-on knowledge of substation construction

Pay Details: $120,000.00 to $140,000.00 per year
