Job Title: Substation Engineer Job Description One of the largest and top performing construction & engineering organizations is hiring a Substation Engineer to perform the following duties on a 5 year power delivery project for a large electric services company: Responsibilities + Serve as a client-facing representative, capable of managing both upwards and downwards + Oversee multi-disciplinary projects involving electrical, structural, and transmission aspects + Collaborate with various disciplines, including electrical, structural, and transmission teams + Manage projects directly under a Project Manager (PM) + Take on and manage scopes of work, including overseeing substation designs and junior engineers on projects + Develop and maintain schedules for quality control (QC) checks and construction timelines + Mentor and manage a small team of junior engineers Essential Skills + Professional Engineer (PE) License strongly preferred. + 7+ years of experience in substation engineering & design. + Bachelor of Science degree in electrical engineering from an ABET accredited university. + Experience leading projects related to substation, transmission, and distribution projects ranging from 12kV to 500kV. + Proficiency in managing scopes of work and overseeing junior engineers' designs/deliverables. + Understanding of electrical, transmission, and structural team dynamics. + Experience with project management, relay, MicroStation, AutoCAD, NESC, NEC, NEMA, IEEE, ANSI, and PLS CADD. Additional Skills & Qualifications + Strong client-facing skills with the ability to manage up and down. + Proven ability to collaborate effectively with different disciplines. + Proficiency in scheduling and maintaining QC and construction schedules. + Leadership skills to mentor and manage 2+ junior engineers. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $126000.00 - $148000.00 - 401k 100% up to 6%. - 52 pay periods per year (every week) - PTO rolls over to next year.
