Key Responsibilities:
Project Management: Oversee substation projects from start to finish, including planning, construction, and commissioning. Early Stage Support: Work with project managers to define engineering needs and scope during the initial phase. Technical Oversight: Ensure external engineers follow all necessary standards and regulations. Consulting Resources: Hire and manage engineering consultants.Coordination: Work with various stakeholders to secure sites, permits, and necessary data for substation projects. Sourcing Services: Find and contract services like geotechnical, survey, and construction. Stakeholder Communication: Represent the project in meetings, providing updates and managing risks. Interconnection Support: Assist with documentation and ensure compliance with transmission requirements.Material Management: Handle orders for major materials to avoid delays and budget issues.Estimating Support: Help update cost estimates based on project feedback.Collaboration: Work with different engineering disciplines to prioritize and plan projects.Safety and Efficiency: Ensure projects are completed safely, efficiently, and cost-effectively.Commissioning Support: Assist with project commissioning to meet company goals. Legal Support: Help with regulatory filings and legal matters. Design Collaboration: Work with component manufacturers to improve designs.Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Civil/Structural Engineering preferred. Experience: 5+ years in substation design and engineering, especially high voltage projects. Skills: Project engineering/management experience, PMP or P.E. certification is a plus.Travel: Some travel within North America required.Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $60.00 - $70.00
