Primary Responsibilities
The primary duty of the Substation Team Lead includes responsibility for knowledge and execution of the technical aspects and deliverables of projects assigned. HDR is looking for a competent engineer who understands and can complete all technical requirements of projects from basic to moderate complexity. As part of the Team Lead responsibility, candidate would be required to support growth of a substation team and assign tasks to junior level staff and provide technical mentorship to the team. Coordination and assignment of quality control reviews for work performed by junior level engineers and/or designers falls within the responsibility of the team lead. HDR is looking for a self-motivated candidate who works independently who can direct, mentor, train, and/or supervise efforts of less-experienced EIT’s and/or designers.
Specific duties include:
Responsible for monitoring, growing and participating in the execution of HDR’s portfolio of power delivery services throughout the KY/TN/AR area. Provide technical leadership to ensure projects haveappropriate staff and that the quality program is implemented effectively. Work with local and regional operations and national leadershipto build capabilities through recruitment and staff training. Encourage and participate in business and community activities as representative of HDR.Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or closely related field Professional Engineer (PE) License or ability to obtain preferred 5 years experience in physical and/or PC substation designStrong computer skills desired – AutoCAD,Microstation, Bluebeam Revu, Microsoft Office, and other electrical design software Previous experience in architectural/engineering consulting desiredLI-MP1
Required QualificationsBachelor's degree in related field5 years related experienceMust have the ability to interact with various design teams, have excellent organizational, project management and communication (both written and verbal) skillsAn attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must
