Summary:
The Craft – Substation Technician – T&D works under general supervision and performs the work in the operation, construction, and maintenance of Electrical Substations and Battery Substations.
Requirements:
Performs general construction of electrical substations.Completes underground and above ground conduits.Installs underground grounding systems.Installs steel structures, electrical substations, and battery substations.Installs MV/HV switches and other electrical equipment.Assists in the layout and concrete placement of drilled peers.Attends work regularly and punctually, as scheduled or expected.Presents, supports, and leads-by-example with a safety and quality-oriented attitude.Installing ground grid.
Additional Responsibilities:
Safety:
Ensures that safety is the most important function, follows safe practices while working.Reinforces safe behaviors and eliminates “at risk” behaviors.Reports potentially unsafe conditions and uses materials and equipment properly.Ensures Job Hazard Analysis (JHA’s) occurs before scopes of work commence.Adheres to and understands standard operating procedures.Receives job- and task-specific training prior to work commencing.Follows technical, quality and safety systems in place and determines appropriate action.
Qualifications:
High School Diploma/GED required.1 or more years of experience working on electrical substations preferred.Ability to travel domestically 5 to 15% required.Operates equipment.Places/Finishes concrete.Installs AG/BG conduits.Pulling control cable/general knowledge of terminating.Erecting steel structures.Functional competencies include attention to detail, communication, casting the right shadow, accountability, and ethics and integrity.
Anticipated base salary range: $23.00 - $28.00
The final agreed upon compensation is based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location.
Per Diem of $100.00 daily to cover lodging, meals and travel during rotation.
