Skills, knowledge, abilities: + Works with figures accurately and efficiently. + Knowledge of the SNAP program. + Ability to operate office machines accurately and efficiently (computer, calculator, copy machine). + Knowledge of Nutrition Services regulations and sanitary codes governing Nutrition Services operation. + Maintain accurate records and files. + Ability to organize workflow for maximum efficiency. + Ability to relate well to all people including student customers. + Ability to think logically and follow through with details persistently, conscientiously and accurately. + Ability to work without close supervision and budget time to complete responsibilities as scheduled. + Follow district policies and procedures related to the position. + Ability to maintain confidentiality. + Ability to work with numerous interruptions. + Strong skills in written and oral communications. EDUCATION: High School diploma or GED desired. EXPERIENCE: Some related experience desired. REPORTS TO: Nutrition Director JOB GOAL: To provide students with attractive and nutritious meals in an atmosphere of efficiency, cleanliness and friendliness. To contribute to the accurate, efficient operation of the Nutrition Department so that it can play its effective part in the education process. JOB PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES: Responsibilities: + Assists with salads or cooking as assigned. + Assists in pot and pan washing and dish machine operation. + Assists in line set-up, serving, and/or cleaning of line as assigned. + Maintains a clean and orderly work area. + Communicates upward and downward. + Assists with cleaning as assigned such as carts, refrigerators, tables, walls, equipment, and floors. + Cleans own working area and helps keep a clean and orderly storeroom. + Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor. + Helps maintain morale of co-workers. + Processes all activities to accounts accurately and timely. + Updates computer with new students and changes in status as needed. + Inputs purchases into computer at lunch and breakfast. + Counts money, completes daily worksheet, and prepares bank deposit. + Attends job related meetings as assigned. Working Conditions:There are frequent peak rush periods, and time-lines must be met. Must be able to lift materials weighing up to 45 lbs. Must be able to work under extreme temperature changes. Must meet health requirements per state regulations for food handlers. Comments:Must have initiative to see what needs to be done and accomplish same in a timely manner. TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Work days and hours to be established by supervisor, and vary due to needs of the department. Wages and additional terms of employment to be arranged with the Board.
