Bethlehem Central School District is continuously seeking substitute applicants for various positions. Below is a list of substitute positions and a brief job description.
School Monitor (Noon Aide) $15.50, retired from District $22.50 - Monitoring students during lunch and recess periods; Previous experience working with students preferred. Must be able to successfully pass and implement Therapeutic Crisis Intervention Training (TCIS) for higher rate of pay. (TCIS trained $22.00, retired from district TCIS trained $27.00).
School Monitor (Aide to Students w/Disabilities) $15.50, retired from district $22.50 - To assist students per IEP and teacher. Must be able to successfully pass and implement Therapeutic Crisis Intervention Training (TCIS) for higher rate of pay. (TCIS trained $22.00, retired from district TCIS trained $27.00).
School Monitor (Hall Monitor) $15.50, retired from district $22.50 - Supervise students in hallways between class periods; monitor student lavatories; assist in supervision of cafeteria; support teachers with homeroom supervision; support teachers with supervision of students in study hall classroom situation; assist Administrators and SRO with school safety drills and procedures; other duties as needed. Must be able to successfully pass and implement Therapeutic Crisis Intervention Training (TCIS) for higher rate of pay. (TCIS trained $22.00, retired from district TCIS trained $27.00).
Food Service Helper $15.50, retired from district $22.50 - Responsible for overall kitchen operation and ordering some food; Meet USDA meal program regulations; Receiving and inventory tasks; Works on the tray lines serving designated portions per menus; Fills food carts and delivers foods to designated areas; Assists in the preparation of salads and desserts; Washes dishes, pots and pans by hand or machine; Sweeps, mops and cleans kitchen; May act as cashier
Custodial Worker $15.50, retired from district $25.50 - Sweeps and mops floors and stairs; Dusts desks, woodwork, furniture and other equipment; Washes windows, walls, sinks and other fixtures; Empties waste baskets, collects and disposes of rubbish; Clears snow and ice from walks; May mow lawns, trim shrubs, rake leaves and perform a variety of other grounds keeping tasks as assigned; Assists in the cleaning of rugs and tile flooring using machines specially designed for cleaning of such surfaces; Repairs window shades, replaces light bulbs, soap and towels
