SUE Analyst
Job Title: SUE AnalystJob Description We are looking for a dedicated SUE Analyst who is experienced in MicroStation Drafting, Geomatics Technology, Engineering Technology, or a related field. The ideal candidate will have strong technical skills, be process-oriented, and possess the ability to work independently when required. You will be responsible for performing utility locating, supporting the Geomatics team with CAD and office-related tasks, and learning about various utility systems and their installation. Responsibilities + Perform SUE/utility locating on various projects. + Support the Geomatics team with CAD and office-related responsibilities. + Learn about different utility systems and their installation processes. + Operate various equipment such as EM, Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR), and vacuum excavation equipment. + Represent the company in a safe and professional manner, exhibiting honesty, practicing good ethics, and adhering to traffic laws and safe driving habits. Essential Skills + 1-2 years of survey experience. + Experience with MicroStation Drafting. + High School diploma, GED, or equivalent. + Willingness to travel to and from sites. + Ability to learn and operate survey equipment (total stations and GPS). + Experience or willingness to work outside in extreme conditions. + Willingness to work on a vacuum excavation truck. + Valid driver's license and acceptable motor vehicle record. + Ability to pass a drug test. Additional Skills & Qualifications + 2 years of experience preferred. + 1-5 years of experience mapping underground utilities and above-ground utility surface features. + Knowledge of Subsurface Utility Engineering (S.U.E) Quality Levels. + Experience with Bentley MicroStation Open Roads Designer or previous versions of Bentley MicroStation and GEOPAK software preferred. + Experience with AutoCAD and Carlson Survey software is a plus. + MicroStation coursework preferred. + Familiarity with Transportation Department's S.U.E and utility mapping CAD standards (e.g., NCDOT's) is a plus. + Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Outlook, Excel). + Candidates should be prepared to provide work samples and/or take a CAD test. Work Environment The work environment includes both office and field work. The position is based in either Raleigh or Durham, NC. The role involves frequent travel to project sites and working outdoors in various weather conditions. The office environment requires proficiency in using CAD software and Microsoft Office Suite. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $40.00 Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
