Job Title: SUE Technician II Job Description We are seeking a skilled SUE Technician II to join our team. The ideal candidate will be proficient with survey equipment, assist in the operation of a SUE field crew, and have experience with a variety of utilities. The candidate should be capable of working independently and leading a small crew when necessary. The role requires working outdoors in diverse terrain and adverse conditions, demonstrating strong technical skills and problem-solving abilities. Responsibilities + Operate survey equipment including total stations, GPS, and SUE locating equipment. + Assist the SUE Analyst in managing a SUE field crew. + Complete tasks involving various utilities such as gas lines, cable lines, septic tank pipes, underground storage tanks, storm drains, and telecommunication lines. + Work independently on project sites and lead a crew when required. + Navigate and work in diverse terrains and adverse conditions, including urban, suburban, and rural locations. + Utilize and operate SUE field equipment safely, including ground-penetrating radar, electromagnetic designating equipment, sewer camera, probe rod, jackhammer, chop saw, pneumatic tampers, and vacuum excavation equipment. Essential Skills + Proficiency with survey equipment (total stations, GPS, SUE locating equipment, hydrographic equipment). + Experience with subsurface utility engineering and utility locating. + Ability to interpret blueprints. + Minimum of 2 years of experience as a SUE Technician. + Ability to travel up to 50% in South Carolina and Georgia. + Ability to lift 50 pounds and operate necessary equipment. + Self-motivated with excellent problem-solving skills. Additional Skills & Qualifications + Experience working on airports, railroads, construction sites, and industrial sites is a plus. + Entrepreneurial spirit and adaptability. + Ability to work unsupervised and handle overnight travel when required.
