Sugar Warehouse - Water Plant Supervisor

Florida Crystals is a leading domestic sugar producer and North America’s first fully integrated cane sugar company, guiding our sugar from farm to table.  We are America’s first and only producer of certified organic sugar, grown and harvested in the United States. Our renewable energy facility is the largest of its kind in North America and provides clean energy that powers our sugar operations, which helps us reduce our use of fossil fuels.  Florida Crystals also sustainably farms rice, sweet corn and other vegetables in rotation with our sugarcane.  Our rice mill is the only rice mill in Florida. 

 

OVERVIEW

The Sugar Warehouse -Water Plant Supervisor is responsible for directing sugar warehousing operations on a per shift basis. His/her team is responsible for achieving results through effective planning and implementation of safe operating procedures, GMPs and regulatory compliance. Will supervise a work force approximately 30 union hourly employees, directing all activities of the receiving, warehousing and shipment of products.

 

 

DETAILED ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Supervise and coordinate loading/unloading operations. Assigns duties and ensures conformance to policies and procedures. Maintain a high level of interaction with all associates. Develop weekly labor schedules. Enforce company policies, and hold employees accountable. Maintain a continuous improvement philosophy. Picking and staging of outbound shipments in accordance with the highest possible levels of productivity and following FIFO policy. Ensure that shipments are accurate and free of damage. Ensure the efficient and safe operation of all material handling equipment. Ensure that the work schedules are correctly implemented and that jobs are assigned effectively and completed properly. Ensure the optimal utilization of space through warehouse consolidation. Maintain a clean, neat and orderly work area. Orderly stacking of product. Lead operations in a way that promotes safety. Assure the integrity of the inventory and assist in conducting physical inventories. Produce and analyze reports related to warehouse and distribution. Responsible for the security of the building when acting as supervisor in charge.

 

WORK EXPERIENCES

Minimum three years of supervisory experience in a high volume warehouse Experience in a union environment is preferred. Experience with consumer goods / retail distribution preferred. Successful communication - written and verbal. Ability to establish priorities and multi-task. Experience with personal computers and materials handling equipment. Ability to understand, produce and explain reports Must have excellent hands-on staff training, development and management skills. MS Office (Word / Excel / Email) a must Must be able to work weekends, and rotating shifts

 

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

4-year degree or equivalent supervisory experience preferred.
