Overview Sugarloaf Lift Operations is looking for an energetic outdoor enthusiast to join our team as our resort Moosecalator Operator. The Sugarloaf Moosecalator is a beginner level conveyor lift that assists entry-level skiers and riders as they build their confidence and skills on our slopes. A Sugarloaf Moosecalator Operator must be reliable, outgoing, and able to interact with guests in a friendly and fun manner. This is an outdoor position, and work occurs in all weather conditions. We are currently hiring for a part time position at this time as the Moosecalator only runs on weekends and holidays, however more full-time work is available for the right fit with our team. Wages are based on experience and team members are eligible for an end of winter bonus based on 5% of wages earned in the season. Responsibilities Operates the assigned lift in accordance with standard procedures and written or verbal instructions to provide safe, uphill transportation for guests and team members Assists with shoveling and raking snow, and chopping ice on a regular basis to maintain proper work areas Assists with the inspection of the lift prior to operational start up, which includes emptying trash containers, continually checking the status of marker information boards, tissue dispensers, assisting in the daily checking of equipment Must become familiar with the ski area (lifts and trails) and also know the functions of other departments Advises and assists guests as needed in a courteous manner Communicates problems to supervisors and mechanics, while showing initiative in handling routine matters and emergencies Adheres to all departmental PPE Meets service level objectives and department goals as set forth by immediate supervisor Qualifications Must be 18 + years old and have a High School Degree or GED equivalent Must be friendly, observant, and safety conscious Must be able to exert moderate physical effort in order to complete tasks Must be able to work outside in varying and at time extreme weather conditions Must be able to work independently while following protocols and all safety measures Must be available to work weekends and holidays Sugarloaf Team Member Benefits include: Free lift pass for skiing and/or riding Discounts at resort F&B and retail locations Discounted ski/snowboard lessons and rentals Access to Nordic trails and discounted equipment rentals at our Outdoor Center location Discounted passes at other Boyne and partner resorts Eligibility for end of season loyalty bonus
