Position Summary

This intern position will be with the Disease Biology group within the Oncogenesis (TRC) who focus on delivering novel cancer therapeutics by engaging E3 ubiquitin ligases for targeted protein degradation. We are seeking a motivated intern with an understanding tumor biology and desire to participate in the discovery of novel targeted protein degradation drugs for hematology oncology projects. The successful candidate will work collaboratively in a multi-disciplinary environment to 1) explore disease biology enabling identification of novel drug targets; 2) learn and implement cellular assays to support discovery of small molecules as clinical development candidates; 3) design and execute lab-based experimental strategies that further our understanding of the mechanisms of novel compounds and targets.

Key Responsibilities

Shadow and learn cellular-based assays including but not limilted to: CTG-based cell viability, flow cytometery, cell cycle evaluation, IncuCyte-based growthReguluar mainitainence of mammalian cell culturesDrug response evaluation by proteomic-based analysis such as western blot or JESS capillary immuno-assayRecording daily activties in lab notebook and reporting to supervisorEnd of project presentation to peers and Disease Biology group members

  

Qualifications & Experience

Demonstrated interest in tumor biology and drug discoveryProficiency in Microscoft Office programs including Excel, Word and PowerPoint is essentialLab-based experience with mammalian cell culture is preferrable but not required

The starting compensation for this job is a range from $21.00/hour - $29.00/hour. The starting pay rate takes into

account characteristics of the job, such as required skills and the geographic location where work is performed. Final

individual compensation is decided commensurate with demonstrated experience and education level.
