Internship Program Overview:
As a participant in the Belk Internship Program, you will gain real word experience and exposure to various functional areas of the Global Sourcing Team.
You will focus on the production of Private Brands or categories manufactured exclusively for Belk. Sourcing Interns will learn key areas of the role including but not limited to initial concept sample through delivery partnering with the Sourcing Manager and Design Team. Interns will be responsible for assisting in following up and tracking private brand merchandise, tasks, and activities, ensuring all timelines are met and production of the line is managed effectively and efficiently.
You will gain experience through structured shadowing assignments, data systems, and working with your manager and mentor.
The Internship Program provides exposure to senior leaders, professional development workshops, structured assignments, and social events over the 10 weeks in the Summer. The internship will be hybrid this summer. You will primarily work remotely, but we will bring you onsite to Charlotte a few times over the summer.
Essential Functions/Responsibilities:
Learn and assist in the execution of the timeline and total production process for private brands
Partner with internal cross functional teams to build the private brands including designer, textile designer, technical designer, and color team
Assist with daily PLM maintenance and updates for delivery, cost, unit and HTS information
Manage the sample tracking by brand, inclusive of Photo and eCommerce, in conjunction with the sample coordinator team
Coordinate with logistics and suppliers to resolve shipping issues
Assist in the creation of sourcing and vendor/style allocation reports
Other duties as assigned by manager or required by business need
Requirements/Qualifications:
Rising college senior planning to graduate in December 2025 or Spring 2026
Preferred majors in Marketing, Digital, Graphic Design, or Business.
Proven strong academic performer (GPA of 3.2 or higher preferred)
Leadership skills that include professional business ethics, confidence and self-motivation
Strong statistical skills with ability to conduct regression and classification analysis, summarize results in a dashboard, draw conclusions and take action
Strong business communication skills and ability to communicate data in a simple way
Advanced level in Excel is required
