Summary: The Summer 2025 Mechanical Engineering Intern- Custom will address golf ball automation machinery issues and improve upon speed, quality, flexibility and overall efficiency of the equipment. This will be completed by working with multiple groups within the company including engineering, maintenance, machine shop and manufacturing. Intern will utilize existing technical skills as well as develop new skills in disciplines such as design, 3D printing, programming, and machining. 

Responsibilities:

Understand existing equipment issues and impact on manufacturing process. Design mechanical components such as brackets, frames, and cams utilizing 3D modeling, 3D printing, and working with internal machine shop. Understand machine programming and work with electrical/automation engineer to modify as needed to achieve desired improvement. Collaborate with manufacturing operators to test, troubleshoot, and document results

Qualifications:

Must be currently enrolled in a college/university degree granting program Preference for candidates enrolled in a Mechanical Engineering Program  Preference for candidates with exposure to 3D modeling and exposure to machine shop learning 

Location & Hours:

New Bedford, MA 8:00am – 5:00pm / Flexible
