This position will assist in location engineering activities that supports process improvement of the business unit. Be a driving force for continuous improvement for the facility while working with all levels of the organization. Interns will be provided with training and mentorship that will translate to real-world skills and experiences. Responsible for the assistance of determining and developing production processes for manufacturing operations - to drive the reduction of non-value added activity and support improved process flow through improved design of equipment and methods. + Evaluate existing processes and to configure manufacturing systems to reduce cost, improve safety and sustainability, and develop best practices within the production process + Ensures plant is actively engaged in Continuous Improvement activities and driving sustainable results MINIMUM REQUIRMENTS: + Citizenship: US Citizen or Permanent Resident Alien + Applicants should be pursuing a degree in Aerospace, Mechanical or Industrial Engineering + At minimum, an Undergraduate Engineering student entering Junior year + Must be able to work 30 – 40 hours a week in the summer + Ability to work in MS Office, CAD (SolidWorks) experience preferred + Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; able to work independently + Blueprint reading and technical report writing + Able to work and communicate effectively with all levels of the organization + Understanding of Lean methodologies and continuous improvement
