What does our Internship Program offer? 

Key’s Enterprise Internship is a 10.5-week program that provides meaningful work that matters, offers feedback and coaching, and creates engaging events and conversations that will spark excitement and interest in bringing one’s full-time career to Key post college.

Interns are involved in a host of line of business specific projects that directly impact and benefit Key’s business and strategic pillars. The program includes networking with Key teammates across all levels of the organization, a series of Learning Labs where internal and external speakers provide insight on Key’s competitive landscape, financial wellness, and professional development best practices, and an assigned mentor who shares knowledge, experience, and advice.

Our team’s mission in supporting the enterprise is to continue to broaden our value and impact in simplifying complex business processes and expanding a continuous improvement culture and our agile operating model across Key. We continue to do this by being a trusted partner in reimagining, modernizing, and transforming KeyBank by leading, and executing large cross-enterprise optimization efforts aligned with Key’s strategic priorities, along with consulting, training, and mentoring on proven continuous improvement tools and techniques. These tools and techniques are designed to focus on our customers’ experiences, considering the entire value stream, managing with facts and data, enhancing our strengths, eliminating waste throughout our processes and technologies, and enabling continuous process improvement by standardizing processes and sustaining improvements to our people, process and technologies by enhancing visual management and continuously seeking perfection in how we deliver for our internal and external customers.

About the Next Generation Enterprise Transformation Internship Program

This developmental program focuses on the professional growth of process engineering methodologies and tools that enable effective process analysis, the implementation of sustained improvements, and measuring the overall effectiveness of future state process designs. It provides the opportunity to participate in strategically focused end-to-end business process improvement initiatives to help internal partners deliver significant cost savings, revenue growth, risk reduction, and/or optimized internal/external client experiences. Interns will work under the direction of Next Gen Enterprise Transformation Process Engineers to assist in scoping and defining opportunities that exist within our processes, along with enhancing strengths as they partner in identifying creative solutions across Key. In addition, they will have the ability to shadow and participate in our continuous improvement cultural transformations that involve training, mentorship, and thought leadership provided by our Process Engineers, in collaboration with our internal partners to broaden a continuous improvement culture across Key. Additionally, Interns will provide data analysis support to Process Engineers, Leadership, and initiative teams for these aforementioned strategic priorities. Upon successful completion of the program interns are eligible to be offered a full-time rotational analyst program position or an opportunity within the Next Generation Enterprise Transformation team as positions are made available.

Job Responsibilities

Drive a focused improvement effort that will be scoped to be accomplished during your program with support of your teammates and leadershipSupport transformation efforts across the organization to improve processes, automate, and develop and standardize KPIs and dashboards to drive transparency in quality and productivityContinually learn new tools, processes, and approaches to further the capabilities within the team to improve existing processesSupport teammates, and internal partners in driving a culture of client centric process excellence and sharing best practices across KeyDemonstrate the ability to anticipate client needs; ability to identify & solve simple to moderately complex problems utilizing learned continuous improvement, and conflict management skillsDocument our efforts’ stories including analysis and impact to our internal and external customersDemonstrate effective change management skills, and be a change agentLeverage analytical skills while demonstrating the ability to work with business units to develop customer centric data/measurement systems that support their strategies

Qualifications

Graduating with a four-year degree or graduate level degree by May 2026 with focused coursework in Business, Engineering, Supply Chain or Operations Management, Logistics, Statistics, or related field from a leading program (preferred)Outstanding academic achievement (minimum 3.0 GPA)Demonstrated leadership and teamwork from past work experience and/or extracurricular activitiesBring solid analytical, problem solving, communication and presentation skillsProficiency in Excel and PowerPointEnrollment in an undergraduate or graduate program in Business, Engineering, Supply Chain and Operations, Logistics, Mathematics, Statistics, or related field from a leading programBasic understanding of Continuous Improvement concepts/tools: e.g., DMAIC methodology, DFSS, Lean Kaizen/Work-out, process management, Customer Journey Mapping, PDCA, A3, 8D, or Human Center Design, etc., along with basic statistical techniquesPrevious basic experience working on a project within a cross-functional team is preferredDemonstrated teamwork through extracurricular activitiesAbility to comfortably interact with clients in a professional and mature mannerHighly organized, detail-oriented, proactive, and resourceful

Compensation and Benefits

This position is eligible to earn an hourly rate of $23 per hour. Compensation also includes a $2,000 Summer Internship Sign-on Bonus.

KeyBank’s Campus Program Internship and Analyst positions are not eligible for employment visa sponsorship (e.g., H-1B visa). This includes, for example, situations where a candidate may have temporary work authorization while enrolled in school or upon graduation (e.g., CPT, OPT) but would need H-1B visa sponsorship within a few years of employment in order to maintain employment eligibility.
