**Position Summary**
At BMS, we are proud to bring innovative medicines to patients with clinical unmet need. Specifically, the Precision Medicine Team works in a highly collaborative environment and leads cross functional matrix teams to identify, develop and implement the Precision Medicine Strategy for delivery of diagnostic products that enhance the value and enable access to BMS's pharmaceutical products.
The summer intern will be offered a rare opportunity to gain insight into early / late-stage oncology/hematology, cardiovascular, and neuroscience drug development. The candidate will have the opportunity to learn from cross functional teams and acquire knowledge of diagnostics and how they are utilized in clinical trials, including but not limited to platform technology, analytical performance, health authority approval, testing laboratory certification / accreditation status, and collection of such information from global clinical trial sites. Under the supervision of a Precision Medicine team member, interns will interact with stakeholders from various teams, learn to ask the right questions and make constructive suggestions to enhance effectiveness and efficiency of data collection workflows. This program will ensure that the intern has a robust experience of working in a highly matrixed corporate environment.
**Key Responsibilities**
+ Works under supervision of Senior Director / Director of Precision Medicine
+ Participates in cross functional team meetings for the development, execution, and implementation of the precision medicine team strategy
+ Conducts data mining of public domain to help characterize performance metrics of diagnostic laboratory tests used by clinical trial sites
+ Compiles new information and evaluate existing information within an existing database to refine and aggregate data about lab tests used by clinical sites
+ Monitors database to ensure timely and accurate entry of required content
+ Proposes opportunities to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of the system and workflow to track lab tests
**Qualifications & Experience**
**Required:**
+ Understanding of oncology, biomarkers, polymerase chain-reaction and next-generation sequencing technology
+ Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal are required
+ Deliver quality work in a timely manner
+ Ability to work following defined process and instructions
+ Highly organized and meticulous
+ Ability to work on-site in Cambridge, MA at least 50% time
**Preferred:**
+ Knowledge on information storage and inquiry using excel is a strong plus
+ Flexibility with can-do attitude
